Values education

What is ‘Values for Life’?

‘VALUES FOR LIFE’ was initially produced by Gloucester Diocese and is used widely across Suffolk in both church and community schools. It helps schools focus clearly on things which should be at the heart of the community when they gather together for Collective Worship.

At Hopton we focus on one theme each term so that they can be adequately developed both in Collective Worship and also in the life of the school as a whole. In addition having this longer amount of time on a theme allows for festivals and visitors to occasionally break away from the theme without detracting from its impact as a whole.

We extend the current value beyond Collective Worship into the classroom, on displays around the school and in communications home to deepen its impact.

Below is how we have arranged the values to complement our PSHCE provision - This year is Year 3. The current value is COMPASSION and you can find the 'Home School Values' sheet for this if you scroll down to the bottom of this page.
