The Curriculum


At Hopton we teach a broad and balanced curriculum that intends to excite and engage all pupils. Each term the teachers plan together to create a whole school thematic approach. The theme for the spring term is 'A step back in time'.

We aim to prepare our children for life in modern Britain and promote fundamental British values such as democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.

We ensure that all elements of the National Curriculum are met whilst planning with our strengths and interests in mind. ( )

Our curriculum drivers are Community, Enquiry and Spirituality.

We use the Oxford Reading Scheme and Jelly Bean books alongside a whole range of library books to develop the children's reading and love of books.
